Fire at Amherst Townehouses
This is one of my favorite videos. My boyfriend Jeff, who works at the Collegian with me as the sports editor, and I were headed to his apartment in the Townehouses after going on a date to curl up, relax and watch a movie. When we pull into the parking lot, we notice all of the flashing lights from the firetrucks and police cars, and a good chunk of the parking lot was completely siphoned off with yellow caution tape. Naturally, we were curious, so we went to investigate. When we saw the magnitude of the fire, we decided to forgo our movie night and ran and got our cameras and voice recorders. By 5 a.m. the Daily Collegian had a print story accompanied with the video you see below uploaded to the website. The next morning, we went to the scene of the fire and took pictures to create a slideshow of the aftermath. Luckily, no one was hurt in the fire, and it was a unique date that Jeff and I had together. 😛
